Group Class Obedience & Real-World Skills

Obedience That Applies Everywhere

Does your dog listen well at home, but struggle once distractions are added?

  • 6-Week Program
  • Saturdays at 10 AM
  • $250 for 6 Sessions
Seven dogs holding place on platforms and in the grass during an outdoor group class

This structured group training class focuses on real-world obedience, calm behavior, public manners, distraction training, and reliability around people and dogs.

Classes are intentionally kept small and held at rotating locations to help dogs learn that obedience applies everywhere — not just at home or inside a training facility.

Dogs in class may all be working at different levels. Some dogs may be building foundation obedience while others are advancing reliability in more challenging public environments.

Exercises are adjusted based on each dog's individual skill level, experience, and progress.

What We'll Work On

  • Engagement and focus around distractions
  • Recall foundations and responsiveness
  • Loose leash walking and structured heel work
  • Place command and duration exercises
  • Stay, impulse control, and calm decision-making
  • Public manners and neutrality around dogs and people
  • Settling calmly beside the handler
  • Confidence and reliability in changing environments
  • Handler communication and leash skills
  • Real-world obedience practice in public settings

Dogs will practice calm coexistence and neutrality around one another rather than direct play and interaction.

This class may also benefit handlers interested in building strong public behavior foundations for future therapy, service, or advanced working dog goals.

Is This Class Right for Your Dog?

This class is best suited for dogs who:

  • Are at least 6 months old
  • Are fully vaccinated
  • Can safely function around other dogs in a group setting
  • Need improved focus and reliability around distractions
  • Benefit from structured social exposure
  • Need better impulse control and public manners

This class is not designed for:

  • Puppies who are not yet potty trained
  • Very young puppies still learning basic household foundations
  • Dogs with severe reactivity or aggression issues requiring private training first

Dogs do not need advanced training to participate, but they should have basic household obedience foundations and be able to safely function in a group environment.

Instructor approval is required prior to enrollment to help ensure the class environment is appropriate and safe for all dogs and handlers.
